At the end of October, Dr Kevin M Isaac from the Federation met with Albanian ambassador Qirjako Qirko to form diplomatic relations at the St Kitts and Nevis High Commission in London. The aim of the union was to bring stronger collaboration – particularly in tourism and investment promotion – and harmony to both countries, while addressing the common challenges the two nations are faced with. The diplomats also discussed implementing a mutual visa waiver in the near future.
Agreements with Albania and the Republic of Belarus
The agreement with Albania was shortly succeeded by another signing, this time with the Republic of Belarus. After establishing diplomatic relations between St Kitts and Nevis and the former Soviet Republic earlier this year, Ambassador Verna Mills and Belarusian counterpart Aleksandr Aleksandrov congregated at the Embassy of Belarus in Havana to strengthen the relationship between their countries.
The government officials went on to sign a mutual visa waiver, allowing citizens holding a valid passport of both nations the ability to enter, transit or exit without a visa. Both ambassadors also expressed their interest in continuing to develop bilateral relations and encouraging greater travel between the two countries.
